Not much is known about the The Halifax Progressives club that played against the St John's All-Stars back in 1911 but we loved the simple design of the flying 'P' wing fixed to a skate. 
 
Wings and skates were popular design features to hockey sweaters during this time period, probably because skating envoked a feeling of flying around the ice surface. Some winged logos survived the changing trends of hockey sweater design, just look at the Detroit Red Wings.
